Creating new e-mail accounts in Goldmine
To configure an e-mail account in Goldmine, follow these steps:

  1. On the Toolbar, click Edit and select Preferences from the drop-down menu.

  2. The User's Preferences window appears.

  3. Select the Internet tab, enter your information as follows:

    Getting Mail:
    POP3 server
    pop.activatemedia.com

    Username
    Enter your e-mail.

    Password
    Enter the password to your e-mail account.
    Important: Passwords are case-sensitive. Ensure the Caps Lock is disabled.

    Sending Mail:
    SMTP server = smtp.activatemedia.com.
    Your return address = Enter your e-mail address.

  4. Click the Accounts button.

  5. The Internet Preferences window opens.

  6. Select the Accounts tab.

  7. Highlight the desired account and click the Edit button.

    Account name
    You can call the account whatever you'd like. Be distinctive to
    distinguish it from any other account you may create. In this example, I gave the
    account the name 'Work'.

    Authentication
    You should have password (PASS) selected.

  8. Click the Advanced Options button.

    The Advanced account settings window opens.

    To enable SMTP Authentication enter your information as follows:

    POP3 server port
    This, by default, should be 110.

    SMTP server port
    This, by default, should be 25.

    Check the box 'The server requires authentication'.

    Select Login/Plain.

    Username =
    Enter your e-mail.

    Password =
    Enter the password to your e-mail account.

    Important: Passwords are case-sensitive. Ensure the Caps Lock is disabled.

  9. Close all windows by clicking the ok button.
